Job Summary:

DHL is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Driver (Warehouse Driver / Yard Jockey) to join our logistics team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the daily yard operations by ensuring trailers are positioned efficiently and safely to support smooth warehouse and transportation flow.

As a Yard Driver, you will operate yard trucks and other equipment to move trailers within the facility, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure compliance with all safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dock & Yard Operations:
• Safely and efficiently move trailers between loading docks and designated yard locations.
• Coordinate trailer positioning to ensure smooth warehouse workflow.
• Conduct daily yard checks to track and manage trailer inventory.
• Equipment Handling:
• Operate yard switchers, tractors, and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Maintain equipment fuel levels and refuel during appropriate times to minimize downtime.
• Loading & Unloading:
• Assist with loading and unloading of trailers.
• Verify product counts and inspect condition to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
• Safety & Maintenance:
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Monitor and maintain vehicle and equipment condition, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (CDL may be preferred depending on location).
• Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or transportation yard.
• Familiarity with trailer and dock operations.
• Ability to operate yard trucks and other heavy equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and safety procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or nights if required.
